CLUB HISTORY

In 1926 a kind parishioner left some land in trust for recreational use and Aldershot Methodist Tennis Club was founded. The club runs independently of the church and you do not have to be a Methodist to join.

2009 TOURNAMENTS - CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL

American Day: Jessica Lamport and Simon Hester
(In view of the sad loss of our very good friend, Simon, a week following this event, the American Day trophy will be replaced by a Simon Hester Trophy donated by his special friend, Peter Fisk. This tennis event will take place at around the same time each year).
Many thanks to all the tournament organisers and to the Matt and Rachael who raised funds (£55) on American Day by selling hot dogs.

I'm sure they would all like to thank the many supporters some of whom stayed throughout and others drifted in and out. It was a great finals! A REAL THANK-YOU TO VAL who has organised the event two years running - what a brilliant job! and Good Luck to Jess and Rachael who have asked to organise the 2010 Championship! I'm sure everyone will be supportive of them in this.
 
 FLOODLIGHTS FUNDRAISING EVENTS
 
PYJAMA MORNING AND TENNISATHON
  
Both events were very well attended. The 12 hour tennisathon was particularly well supported with a worthy raffle, a guess-the-number-of-games and other activities. The money is still coming in but it is expected to have raised more than £600. WELL DONE, JESS AND RACHAEL! It was great to see it coming together... even with a little panic! I'm sure there will be a more detailed reporting of the event at some point.
